“A CURIOUS MIND” by Brian Grazer

A courious mindBrian Grazer is a movie producer and also one of the founders of the famous company “Imagine Entertainment”, known for Oscar-winning productions such as “A Beautiful Mind” and “The Da Vinci code” among others. You can easily recognize him by his spiky hair (hence the drawing from the cover of the book), which he uses as a trademark to stand out in a crowd.

Brian Grazer attributes his massive success in the film industry to his innate curiosity.

“Curiosity requires a certain amount of bravery – the courage to reveal you don’t know something, the courage to ask a question of someone.”

In his book “A curious mind”, Brian Grazer tries to convince his readers about the benefits of being a curious person. He says: “Curiosity isn’t celebrated and cultivated, it isn’t protected and encouraged.”

I share the same belief as Brian Grazer that only by being curious adults, we continuously learn throughout our lifetime. I also think that the most important lesson we can teach our children is to be curious.
“The classroom should be a vineyard of questions, a place to cultivate them, to learn both how to ask them, and how to chase down the answers.”

The author emphasizes that being curious will help us have better relationships at work:
“To be a good boss, you have to be curious about the people who work for you.”

As well as in our personal lives:
“True love requires curiosity, and sustaining that love requires sustaining your curiosity.
    Real intimacy requires curiosity.”

Besides the fact that I enjoyed the subject of the book and acknowledging the importance of being curious, I enjoyed reading about the way Brian Grazer started his career in the film industry. It is entertaining.
